If you are really a nature lover or even want to spend quality time with self or family & friends, best place is NIWANT. There are umpteen number of resorts or hotels anywhere on this earth but if you wish to spend few days in home away from home, NIWANT is right place in every sense. I have personally been to NIWANT many times & as a bird photographer what I liked most is location of NIWANT. First & for most, its just 2 hrs drive from Mumbai.... so when you reach NIWANT you are as fresh as a flower. I simply drive down to NIWANT.... once you leave Mumbai Pune expressway & drive down through PALI, jungle road begins ..... its lush green through out....... Once you enter NIWANT, lovely flowers welcome you...... nicely planted trees make you feel at peace.... chirpy birds like Oriental Magpie Robin & beautiful Sunbird take rounds entire day.... some where very close you may be sweetly disturbed by Cuckoo.....sighting of Treepie on Papaya is amazing ........ Slightly behind, 2 acres of land is cultivated & is typical farm.... where Green Bee eaters & Caucal are easily visible...... If you turn to your left there is a small stream & rocky area which are conducive to cattle egrets....... On the adjoining road you are bound to come across amazing Indian Roller, gang of Babblers, jumping jack kind of Tailor bird.& Bulbuls..... Go further down towards the temple, you find a river which is dominated by kingfishers, pond herons etc..... just cross the river & the path leads you to hill onwards to Sudhagad..... In fact, some villagers walk to & fro every day to Lonavla......Last time we witnessed Golden Oriole........ & we were so happy..... Watching sun set near NIWANT is something you will cherish..... A dip in the small kids pool or just lazing in the shade outside is something you will remember......Hospitality & trained staff make sure you are happy with food...... what more than heaven you will expect......
